How to contact creatives - PPP - Studio Brief 2 - Creative Report

Having identified a number of creatives which I would like to approach to interview for the creative report, it became apparent that a good method of contact was needed to catch the eye of these designers. The most common method would be emailing, though as more and more people are now ignoring emails and only replying to an important message, it may not be the most reliable method anymore. Thinking further a good means of contacting seems now to be hand written letters, something which is no longer common in the UK but something everyone appreciates, it adds a personal touch to it, the writer has taken the time out to pen a letter and the receiver will realise that and hopefully respond, hand-penned letters will catch the eye and the imagination of the designers. Craig Oldham's book 'The Handwritten Letter Project' proves this is a useful technique to get a response from people who would normally not respond to an email as they get too many in a day, as well with Oldham being one of the designers I would like to approach, he will relate to being approached with a letter more so than an email.

Letters can be creative pieces of art to as seen in Oldham's book, people responded in a very creative fashion to his letters, with people replying in many different fashions, notable is the response from Carter Wong Design, where they have used old type to respond very brashly this letter, they have taken the time out to produce this cool reply all because Oldham emailed them, other responses mention the rarity of a letter and reply just because the writer has taken the time out to produce something hand rendered and personal.

My aim would be to write out letters and send them to my own chosen designers in hopes they would also write back in return, though I shall include my email to make sure they can contact me.
