PPP- Post Card Design - Studio Brief 2 - Creative Report

Having concluded that a postcard would be the best format to contact the chosen designers which have been chosen, it was clear that looking at postcard design would help me to produce an interesting and unique looking design which will spark a response from the receivers. I found this book 'Boring Postcards' by Martin Parr, it is a collection of old American postcards which show images of old buildings and hotels, all of the content are genuine postcards and though the title of the book describes what the postcards are, each image has its own unique charm and look which is very interesting. The majority of the postcards in the book document where the place is in the image, or where the postcard has been purchased.

The imagery of large buildings and bright contrasting colours of signs and sky make for bold clear photographs, this mixed with text which reads the location of the image makes for a unique look, my own collage work resembles the photographs within these postcards, focussing on modernist block flats and buildings, with contrasting colours to make them stand out.
